first time at the track with the firehawk
I went to the local T&T today with my bf and his z06, I think I did pretty well considering i have just put around 1000 miles on the car since i bought it and never drag raced a rwd manual before. it was around 50 today and windy.
My best time:
13.55 @ 103.XX mph 2.0 60ft
my car weighs around 3400lbs with me in it. I do have a G2 lid, smooth bellow, SLP loudmouth II catback, slp y, descreened maf, egr tube cutoff and some crappy sumitumo tires. ran full with spare and all.
he managed to get 12.9 @ 108 with a 1.9 60ft out of his stock 03 Z06 out of 1 run.
is that about right or can I get more with traction? it wheel hopped a bit out of the box too. can't wait to go again with some better weather.

I think when you get a few more runs in you'll improve on that time. 103 seems like a low trap speed for a m6.
My '98 M6 Formula was stock except for a lid and free ram air, and I trapped 107 with it. ET was high though, 13.7. I had a heck of a time launching the car, I ran horrible 60fts.

just practice that mph is low. Your m6 puts your rearend in a bad position, might want to consider relocation brackets at the minimimum w/ lower control arms to get rid of that wheel hop.
Otherwise good runs for a first time out for the both of you!

MPH on the Z06 is low by about 10mph... Perhaps the DA was really high?
A buddy of mine had a 2002 Z06 that regularly ran in the 11s and trap speeds were between 116-120... His modifications were:
Drag radials and K&N filter. However our track had days when it registered below sea level... I pitted next to the guy for two years so I know it was no BS on his mods.
