First time at the track 5-23-08

It was my first time at the track racing period.. Also first time my 2000 ws6 m6 T/A had seen the track.. My mods are

    Pacesetter LT's
    Pacesetter Y-pipe
    SLP lid /w K&N
    NKG TR55IX's
    MSD wires
    SLP LM1 catback
    4.10 gears

With street tires about 50-65% tread.. Full street weight, took out spare tire and jack thats it.. Humidity at 80%, 85 degrees at 8 o'clock..

I made 6 runs.. I will list them all, now be nice im a newbie in a fast M6 car..

    60'- 2.228
    1/8th- 9.544
    MPH - 68.63

    1/4- 14.702 (haha)
    MPH- 100.32 (even funnier)

(This was my first pass... I missed third Not ONCE but Twice in a row.. It was bad I will tell you.. I had to re-stage probably 2 times..)(slip does show all the markers like 330,1000, just saving time typing)

2nd run ,much better, slow shifted third to make sure and not miss..

    60'- 2.210
    1/8th- 8.890
    MPH- 84.03
    1/4th- 13.505
    MPH- 108.40

    3rd run

    60'- 2.252
    1/8th- 8.754
    MPH-85.36
    1/4th- 13.303
    MPH-109.43
(this was my best run of the night.. my 60's are terrible I know..)

    4th run

    60'- 2.285
    1/8th- 8.953
    MPH- 84.74
    1/4th- 13.526
    MPH- 108.73

(the 5th run had a 2.9 60'.. I will let you put that one together lol, dont worry still in the 14's lol)

    Last run

    60'- 2.204
    1/8th- 8.888
    MPH- 84.48
    1/4th- 13.475
    MPH- 108.45

That was it guys.. The car seems to run good once it got off the line... Now I don't know how much it matters but the humidity was 80% and it was 80 degrees outside most of the night... It had a chance for rain All day long, super cloudy, and never rained.. humidity was just terrible.. Everyone I talked too was running .3-.5 slower than normal... My buddy in his Bullitt mustang could only pull a 14.4 and he made 5 runs.. His average is a 13.9. And I talked to a couple 12 seconds cars that said they were doing about a half slower too.. So maybe next time I can bring some DR's and not so humid

Tell me how I did guys!!

Not bad man, especially for your first time out! I recently made my first ever pass, and the first in my car (obviously) and ran 13.2x @108, 13.14 @110, then 13.3x @110. I was pretty happy especially being my first time, and like you I had street tires, full weight, and shitty 60 ft times lol.

My car is M6 as well, stock gears, full bolt ons (minus tb) and I ran with open headers. I (we) should be running high 12's lol, so like you I also need a driver mod, but all in time and practice! Good times and hope you had fun.

I dont need a driver mod, just something to help my street tires cheat off the line!! lol... There was a AWD evo 2 weeks ago out there with some stuff done... Ran like 5 or 6 12.90X's in a row.. Consistent as hell.. And I saw him the same night I was there (last night) and he was running 13.41X's all night, at least 4 passes and said his 60's were all the same from last week and last night... Everyone just said that they were about a half second slower.. humidity was around 90%.. On the way there, there were some water patches in the roadway even, and it hadn't rained all week, it was just so humid it made moisture

    Agreed.

Those times aren't bad at all for a beginner. 2.25 short time beats my first 10 passes on street tires.
As long as you had fun....it gets better.

    Be careful though...it is addicting.

I know what u mean about street tires, my best 60' was 2.195...If only I could pull a 1.9 or so that would help out tremendously. I'm sure 4.10's dont help wheelspin either lol.

Shit to much car and you got a heavy foot, I run 13.48 on a stock car, good news you will be ridiculously quick once you start to get the hang of it at the track.
