Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
El Stinko Times at the track today.
Well, it was a nice day today so the wife and I decide to go to the racetrack to have some fun. Well, I know we are at about 850' altitude and low humidity and we should have run better. My bolt on 02 SS ran a best of 13.70 @ 105 with a .653 reaction and a 2.27 60' I could not get traction at all. I run stock Goodyear F1 GS tires with 20lb rear and 40lb front. The mods are listed below. I was happy to see I ran a 14.89 @ 92mph on 7 cylinders, coil wire fell off at launch and SES light started flashing. but was I really that bad off the line and at 60' or could it be something else. I should be at the 12.7 @ 107mph times I ran at E-Town in April. The wife has a bone stock 04 GTO with 18" wheels and tires. She ran a best of 14.73 @ 96mph with .213 reaction and a 2.19 60' time which is not great but this is a 13.8 car. Do you think the clocks were off ? We ran at Island Dragway in Great Meadow NJ. I like to run at E-Town because of the altitude and the great track surface. I'm not knocking Island because they do have 6 sec rides going down the tract but these slips are way off. What do you think ?

That terrible 60' would account for at least 0.4-0.5 better in the 1/4 if you would have gotten a 1.9X-2.0 which is easily attainable with stock tires on a stock suspension.
Was you there with anyone else or did you watch anyone else run? How were other cars doing?
I typically run better at the local track compared to Rt 66 Dragway, but it is maybe a tenth or two. You're speaking of a full second which is considerably different.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

reaction time doesn't factor in to your quarter time. Your problem was your 60'. Also, you're not going to run the same at all tracks. All tracks are not created equal. Get drag tires and your times will fall back in line.

The MPH is still there so nothing I see to worry about. You ran a best of 107 before? And now you ran 105? That's not much different and can easily be accounted for with weather conditions alone.
This time of year cars will naturally slow down as temp, humidity, and dew points are higher in the summer months. Even though your elevation is 800 feet (which is low by the way) your DA figures could be well into the 4,000 ft range if it's above 80 degrees and humid. That can easily kill 3-4 mph.
