Cocky Mach 1 thinks he will beat me
There is this kid i know that has an 04 Mach 1 that is real cocky with it. He has full exhaust, intake, TB, tune, and 4.10s. He just beat an LS2 GTO with a couple things done. Now he is cocky that he will beat me. He said since he beat an LS2 im toast. He also said that guys with LS1s have vaginas. I have full exhaust, lid w/K&N, 85mm TB, ud pullies, 160 tstat, LCAs, PHB, torque arm, G5X1 camshaft, 3500 stall w/ shift kit, 3.73 gears, and nittos. it will hook if i roll into it. Now do you think i will beat him? I am hoping to have my crane rockers on by then if everything is straightened out. I am also getting a FAST soon when i sell my set of Street Lites and drag radials.

Mach 1's are slow. I was behind one at a redlight and he was revving at me like a douchebag. So I let him take off, I caught up real quick and had to hit the brakes to avoid running him over. My car was pretty much stock then too, and the mach 1 sounded good, loud as fuck anyway.

I'm sure he's a 12 second car so I wouldn't say he's slow but with your mods you should be running 11's and should take him without too much problem.

with the mods you have you would have no issues pulling on him at all. I would video it and post it on youtube as cockyMach1owned, lol. Id agree with good traction it would be a 12 sec car but if you guys race on the highway its a done deal.

i raced a 04 mach 1 with intake, headers, full exhaust, and a tune...manual transmission...i beat him all the races, and only time he kept up was when i spun the tires in first gear...beat him by a atleast 4+ cars when i had a good launch....
at the time i had a air lid and cat back exhaust and mine is 6speed....
think you should do good...

we had a little talk today and he told me he said all that to get me to race him. he also said that he heard that i was saying a bunch of stuff about him when i didnt. he thinks it will be a good race. i just said we'll see. the rockers will be on this week. i hope to sell my slicks soon so i can get the FAST. one of my best-friends has a full bolt on gt with a 100 shot and he is always on a mustang forum. he said that the mach should be mid 12s and the underdrive pullies the kid put on dont help on machs. and no i dont have pics of it Joshie, haha.

i raced him once already before i had the cam and stall and before he had headers, gears, and TB. i beat him by about 5 cars. you mean the stuff he did helped more than the things i did, haha.

B2300 (Fluffy) Retired- Plain-Jane Dodge Truck
Underdrive pulleys on most any late-model car are worth only a couple of HP, so very little difference there.
With street tires on a normal track with a normal driver, the car is still probably only low 13's. A good driver at a good track could crack 12's pretty easily. Traction would help him a lot, but given the 3.37 1st gear and 4.10s, traction from a dig on street tires is going to be almost non-existant.
The car would be significantly quicker with weight reduction and sticky tires (of course), but most folks don't do a lot of that with pure street cars.
*IF* you can make it hook, a properly-setup stalled LS1 can be brutal from a dead stop.Last edited by BLKCLOUD; 04-29-2009 at 05:03 AM.
