burnout questions for automatics
Since I got my 3.42's I've been able to do burnouts on street tires without any water, but I just got drag radials and I couldn't even burn them out without water. I had to have somebody pour water for me since the track I go to doesn't have a waterbox. Does anyone else have the same problem on drag radials? Also I'm thinking about getting a stall converter, but I'm wondering how do you do a burnout with a stall converter if even possible?

not on my launch I'm talking about actually trying to do a burnout to warm up the tires.

If you can't burn em then why would you need to warm em up?

I don't get it though, if you can't spin em you don't need a burnout cause you have 100% traction. Am I misunderstanding? And if you spin em off the line then you can do a burnout? I'm confused

I think you're confused. I'm not talking about spinning them when you launch off the line but rather before when you're suppose to warm them up. Does this make sense?

I think you're confused as to the aspect of my confusion. You say you can't do a burnout to warm them up. You don't need to warm them up if you can't spin them anyways. If you have such good traction that you can't warm them up, why would you need to warm them up?

So are you guys saying that I don't need to do a little burn out with drags radials to warm them up for better traction?

Aren't drag radials suppose to cut time off your 1/4 mile times? Before drag radials my best would be a 13.8 on street tires and when I went out there on drag radials my best runs were 13.8 also. I was spinning through first on street tires thats why I went out and got drag radials for better traction and better times.

I don't understand why you would need to fight for a burnout. If it's that hard to do a burnout then you can't spin em off the line anyways and don't need to heat em up
