wow...i hate to be the bearer of bad news..but 1. there is no best tire....2. for "street" racing..a drag radial (not the drag part of the name) is for the drag strip....just get a max performance summer tire

Plain and simple Nitto's suck in my opinion, on the track and off....
I have grown fond of Fuzion ZR1's. They work great, in all weather and even do decently on the track... Great wear pattern also.

Well, if money is of no issue... Mickey Thompson Et Streets Radials. Great tire, but they will be gone quickly on the street. I actually really like my Nitto 555R's for the street. That was, before the tire shop ruined one

Nitto 555R
Some say the BFG DR is decent. Never tried it
Never tried the Zr1 either.

I put BFG D/R's on mine and haven't had any issues with traction on the street or at the strip. (1.8 60')
But as said earlier... there is no "best" tire. It depends on what you want out of your tires. I want traction and don't care about longevity. I might have to replace these every year.1999 T/A LS1
STS rear mount turbo - 5 psi
48# Injectors, 3600 Yank converter
Other that that, all stock.

whats wrong with slicks on the street just needs a little extra air for stability drivin course drag radials can hook better on a heavier street car have stiffer sidewall

Nothing that happens on the track means your gonna hook on the street, no matter what tires you are using. Track is track, street is street no car launchs the same on both reguardless of tires unless its a 150whp car with a mini tub and slicks and you dont have the power to break it loose anywhere.

a good tire will hook better on any road or track surface if 60 drops at the track they'll hook harder on the street
