Best 60' on "true" street tires

I'm just wondering, what 60' times have you had on real street tires? I haven't installed my converter or torque arm yet. My Vortech is only putting out 4 - 6 psi and I went to the track last weekend. I was suprised that I hooked on my Goodyear Eagle HPs. I ran a couple of runs with a 1.989 60'.
    Drag racing...just another numbers game.

Vortech Super Charger, 9" w/4.11, 3200 Stall, BMR SFC, BMR TracPak, !MAF screen, 160 T-Stat.

Have you ever run 16" tires? I am running 245/50R16.

Never had a 16" wheel on the car.
I now run Hoosier QTP's on 15" ProStars.

I've read that in other posts. Have you heard about the new Greg Weld 15 x 10s? Are they in production yet? Do they really clear the calipers?

I've heard that some street tires do not respond to heat as well as others. I have to do a MASSIVE burnout to get traction with the HPs. Not good for the pocket book, but it does wonders for the ego.

I would imagine anything less than a 1.90 would be hard to get on streets. Maybe high 1.8xx with drag shocks, auto with 2800 stall. before me stall, gear and nitto tires i did run a 1.991 on riken raptor 245 tires with the 2.73 gear. But those days are long gone LOL

    Nice times w/ bolt ons!

I admit, just after the rain, I blew the tires off when I hit second gear. I just think that there is more to get with the stock tires with good track prep.

I normally race at Quaker City Raceway. With my last car, I ran a few times at Norwalk. Traction there is GREAT! I know there are 60' times out there that are much better on junk tires.

I am yet to find a street tire that likes to be warm.

I tried to "be cheap" and not do a burnout. My tires like the heat. ???

When I do a burnout, I hear road debris being kicked up into my wheel well like I did when I ran slicks in my old car. It seems to work well.

Here is a 1.52sec 60 footer on 19" street tires, (not me of course) but a mate running 245/35/19 front & 275/35/19 rear Falken FK-452's. No burnout.

The best I've went is 1.89 with street tires on a 2.73 gear. I only went 1.91 with a 3.23.

Wasn't at the track but with mods in sig, I got my GSD3's to hook at 5200 dump. Not a squeel, it was a black top road with 101 temp. They are kinda pricey for a street tire, but would recommend them to anyone. I wish I could have had a 60' time with them, my best is a 2.2 horrible with my current tires I am going back to them, for sure until my rear is built up to handle the launches. Next to slicks they handle power just as good.

I should state, they were 275/40/17's. Their wear is not that good, I got about 15,000 miles out of them, but they hooked for a street tire as good as they get.
