Beat a 2010 Challenger R/T more than once.. at the track.

    Had a blast,still no 12's I ran a best of 13.031 at 105.95 with a 2.008 60ft into a stiff headwind.

    The Challenger was a 2010 R/T 375HP A5 with LT Headers,CAI,Tuning and MT DR's "Driver Sam".

    The TA a 1999 W/122,000 miles A4, LT Headers, CAI,Tune and Free Mods W/Hoosier DR's "Driver Me".

We were both chasing 12's today and I beat him 4 out of 5 runs,he is a really cool guy.

Best slip side by side 12:30 pm "Winner Me"

    Sam LL Me RL
    RT .374 .166

    60ft 1.933 2.008

    330ft 5.398 5.522

    1/8 8.346 8.415

    mph 83.83 85.84

    1000ft 10.871 10.903

    1/4 13.001 13.031

    mph105.83 105.95

He was so close, the wind picked up more and we both couldn't get it done.

We are going to have a friendly grudge match on Victoria Day.

Every race was like that, except he hit his rev limiter twice.

I had never met him before today but I seen him run a 13.08 and figured we could have some fun side by side.

He used to have a 1995 TA and he knew a friend of mine that was at the track without his car.

    Small world.

They used a Mercedes "E" Class chassis for the 300,Charger,Magnum and Challenger.

He said his car weighs 4050 without driver.

Very nice looking car though,I am stoked beating it with my $6,200.00 12yr old beast.

I have about $2,500-3,000. in mods and maintanence, tires ect.

I took on and took out a $40,000.cdn car

Great racing. Looks like those challengers don't run all that bad considering it's over 2 tons.

Thanks, its always fun when you have close competition.

Its always more fun when you win

375HP plus Headers,CAI,Tune it should be able to get out of its own way

That 375hp rating,,,,is that the 6.1 or the 5.7?? I was under the impression that the new 6.1's are now rated from the factory at over 400hp??

6.1's are in the SRT8 cars.

    This was a 5.7L A5 tranny.

Ya I knew the SRT8's are the 6.1's, I just wasn't sure if you left the SRT8 description out on purpose or accidentally

Now I'm thinking that challenger runs even better than I originally thought since it has the baby hemi.

Sneak a stall converter in there and surprise him next time

I posted it was an R/T,an SRT8 would eat me alive.

It does run good but they still haven't caught up to GM's 90's cars.

Ya I saw that, but I don't take anything posted for granted.

Looks like they caught up to me. Considering you guys are modded nearly identical and he's carrying 2 tons down the track.

I'm not trying to steal your thunder, that's great racing, I just give credit where it's due without being bias.

I dont agree with that, the srt8 are stout cars but they wont eat an fbody. In my case ive taken out a couple. Not by much they were right on my ass but in the racing world a win is a win.

Eh, depends. Stock Fbodies (if there are any left) will have their hands full with a new SRT8 and probably lose. I ran a brand new one, with my wifes car that has a smallish cam and headers, SD tune, 6 speed etc....
I was barely able to even pull ahead of the SRT8, and I mean slowly,,,and this was one of the 4 door 300c's that look like bently's,,,,,and my wifes car traps 111+ mph at the track.
The SRT8's are nothing to sneeze at for sure, and evidently a lightly modded 5.7 runs pretty good too according to what Tom is posting here.

I have a friend who had a 8 second F Body a few years ago, sold it to build his business.

    Last year he bought a SRT8 Charger,CAI,Headers,CB,Stall,Tune and DR's its gone 12.4 at 112mph.

That's a healthy SRT8. That trap speed would run away from either of our 4th gens. Even my wifes 6 speed with a mild cam, headers, tune, only traps 111.xx.
My auto SS is modded nearly identical to that SRT8. With a stall, headers, CME catback, off road Y, tune, and it's not even close to trapping 112 mph. It goes 107.xx

The worst thing is he just got the H/C done, got a new converter and is installing a Maggy.

That thing is going to flat out fly.

Good race man! your car runs decent but im EXTREMELY surprised at those challengers numbers. we had one here but it was an M6 and he was having hell trying to break 13.7-13.8's. im sure it was just the driver. And you shouldnt have problems with an SRT car IMO i love letting them see the beautiful camaro ass however i do have a few more mods then you.

Thanks,3 were very close including his win on a holeshot.

Did the M6 Challenger have any mods?

    He probably couldn't launch it.
