Bad Day at the track!
Went to the track yesterday for the first time this year and im so dissappointed in the car, i've spent alot of money and put some serious hours in gettin the car ready. My best time was 12.232 at 113.89 in the 1/4 and 7.880 in the 1/8 with a 1.74 sixty foot. Cant figure out what im doin wrong!
98 Trans Am. Ls6 block,ls6 ported and polished heads,comp 588 588 cam,1 3/4 hooker headers,80mm throttle bodyw/typhoon intake.also custom tuned.397rwhp and 403rwtq.( Those #'s was with the stock ls1 intake)

Yep, those #'s arent that bad. Toss a bottle on it and watch it scream for a mid to low 11.

I think it should have been high 11's cause a buddy of mine has has a 90 gt with a 331 stroker,he runs 11.7's at the track and we raced on the high way it was dead even. Oh well maybe next time i'll dip into the 11's.

From a roll is completely different than off the line @ the track. His 60' times will kill yours due to the difference in weight (or I'd be willing to bet anyways)...

Those numbers don't look too bad but I would think with that set up you could get into the 11s with the right suspension set up, traction and rear. 60ft time seems decent but should be a bit quicker for 11s. Do you have DRs are you getting traction? Do you have an M6 or A4? I'm curious too why did you go with that intake and a 80mm TB? Why not go Fast 90/90 probably put you in the 11s.
Highway race is completely different your HP up top is keeping you even with him. I wouldn't be to disappointed low 12s are respectable and i'm sure with some tweaking 11s are around the corner.

M6 with adjustible torque arm from umi, lca's from umi and a moser 12 bolt with 4.30 gears. MT ET streets. couldn't afford a fast 90/90 at the time. Im changing gears going to a 3.42 w/ the spray. The 4.30's are fun on the highway with street tires but not at the track.

Your losing it on the launch. With a 4:30 12 bolt and ET streets you should be in the 1.5 range in the 60'. That would get you high 11's. What were you launching at? Looks like you just need practice with your current setup.

WOW you guys are all about some spray!!!!
Loose the bottle and invest into some real power
Turbo or Supercharger.
Those are some good times, Try launching it harder and if your afraid it wont hook just stay in the burnout box a little longer.
Maybe try taking some weight out of the car too. But for every 15lbs you gain.o15 of a sec.

I've been thru it, the M6 is killing you. The hydraulic clutch pretty much sucks, doesn't release well for a quick shift. Switching to an auto has so far gained me .7 sec & 3 mph.
