Had my first real race today.While out cruising,I ran across a black ss,turned around on it and got close.From a 45 mph drop,he pulled about a car and a half.We had lots of traffic so we slowed up,finally got clear so we got side by side. He pulled about two cars on a 30-40 mph drop.Followed him and he pulled over,said he had a auto,a lid,no cats and pretty much stock.We decided to go up to the bridge and race from a dead stop.He got the holeshot due to the fact that I roasted the tires,pulled about two cars.Then we did a 20 mph drop and he got me by two again.Well,I was feally pretty bad to get beat like that when he had so few mods,mine is stock all the way to the single exhaust,besides a lid.We pulled over again and he admitted he had a hp tune and a comp cam. Made me feel alot better,he said his car wasn't as fast as mine stock,with a few mods I'd have a lot better race. Love the way that car sounded,that exhaust had balls to it!!Hate to go in my motor,what are some of my options?

Seems how your two cars are practically identical peformance wise off the assembly line, and he modified his car to free up hp, then yes, it sounds right.

Did I read the question wrong? Or is the answer seriously that obvious?

I think you did great to stay that close to a cammed and who knows what else, car. He is the one who should feel bad.
