3000+ RPM Launch with sticky MT ET Streets = This

We were hotlapping like crazy last night! I have a 2002 WS6 6-speed. FTRA, lid, K+N filter, smooth bellow, 90mm FAST manifold, SLP longtubes, and 3 inch borla adjustable catback exhaust with the full cutout in. Best time was only a 13.25 because I was skating through 1st and a little swervy into 2nd but I still kept on it anyway. My 60 ft. was close to a flat 2 even without being able to hook it up. 15 PSI in the ET streets (only 275s so nothing too big). I was launching at around 2,500-3,000 most of the time so I was kinda asking for trouble with a stock driveshaft. Even with the tires burnt up pretty good I never had a perfect hook... always a little slippage at best. This was probably my 6th or 7th run in about an hour right here. Everything was perfect except for the bad omen of the mustang's nitrous backfiring right next to me and him shutting his car down. I ripped the tires up till I couldn't see behind me. All alone at the light it turned green and took my time slowly revving to at least 3 grand. Needless to say I had my perfect hook, because my driveshaft completely shredded when the torque hit. We pushed it back and a footlong piece of flattened out tattered aluminum fell down onto the track. I'm keeping that piece for my wall. All in all a good night!

Ouch! Want to twist another one? My stock D/S is awaiting a new home.

Yeah it was either going to be the shaft or the rear. I had a pretty bad feeling 1 of the 2 was gonna blow out on me, especially how I roasted those tires up. I am currently looking for a new DS in junkyards around here because, unfortunately, this is my daily driver. I don't have any other cars so I'm totally out of commission until I get a new 1 to put in. How much do you want for yours?

I wouldn't have a clue what to ask -- $75.00 would probably make me happy. Our car is an A4, I assume no difference in length? Rear u-joint may have 1,500 miles on it.

I thought I heard that the manual had a different shaft, but that may have just been hearsay. I'll see if I can find out... or if anybody else reading this wants to chime in feel free!

Wow, that shaft riped apart like a beer can. Just glad it wasn't your 10 bolt. That would have sucked. 75.00 is alot better then several hundred. Keep trying at the track, you shoud be able to hit the 12's with a little clutch work.

Oh I know I could've probably hit high 12s if i feathered it a bit more.... I was just having too much fun torqueing myself to hell off the line. If I would have been a little bit more lenient with the gas and clutch it probably would have been a bit quicker and probably would have saved me the headache of ripping the shaft apart. Needless to say my friend with the stock 5.0 + a catback ran 12.96 on his stock tires.... Figures.

Jeff has first dibs if it is indeed the same as a manual DS, but I also have one from a 2002 Camaro SS M6 that was removed at 12K miles. Same price. I thought they were the same length though between the two.

Jeff - if you want to measure yours, I'll measure mine.
    It's on jackstands.

They aren't that heavy since they are AL. I'm assuming Jeff's price would include shipping, but he would need to speak on that. Shipping is probably around $10-15 using UPS ground though.

Not a clue on shipping. I would hope that it wouldn't be more than $15, but hard to tell since our Post Office is apparently going broke.

This is a pic of the stock shaft next to the PST replacement that I installed when the 12 bolt went in:

Where are you located in Jersey? You can come pick up my stock shaft. It will probably cost more in fuel to come get it then it would to ship.

OP needs shafted ASAP. If you are within reasonable driving distance, he should really consider making the run to W-B to get it.

I'm right on the east coast; middle of the state. Everybody here is from PA! Makes me wish I was on the other border.... The $75 is still a fair price and it looks to be in at least the same condition as mine was...before it became 3 pieces that is.... Does the $75 include shipping Jeff?

That's a darn good question. Until I know what they are going to charge me, I can't say. I'll agree to pay shipping up to $15 -- is that fair?
