1st time at the track with the camaro
Went to Etown last night (took 3.5hrs to get there because of a 14 car fatal accident on south jersey tpke). This is the 2nd time I've driven a car at Etown, 1st car was my srt-4 which just completely failed. This car was a good 1000000000 times better to drive on a track lol. I still have a lot of stuff to learn and work on.
I really need to work on my launches and need a shift light to get my shifts down pat.
1st run I launched like a panzy and revv'd 2 or 3rd out (or both can't remember)
2nd run I launched much better but spun and shifted early
3rd run I launched like shit again but shifted better
Car 701 (left lane each time)

That's usually a fast track, only about 150 feet above sea level. With the weather you guys had you were below sea level DA conditions, so it would have been a good night to put up some times.
I would have expected your MPH to be higher compared to your mods done and the RWHP it put down.
I see it gets a little better with every pass, finally hitting 112+ mph on the last run. Probably get better with more practice and playing with shift points.

I guess I can't see the times b/c I am at work...
Agree with Firebirdjones though based on what I am seeing on the 3rd video. Looks like you are shifting right before the 1/4 mile mark.

Yeah you are right. What grabbed my attention was barely shifting into 4th gear at the finish line
I can't say much though, my wifes 6 speed is the same way using a mild cam and still on the stock 3.42's. Shifting at 6500 puts me a couple hundred feet from the finish line in 3rd.
A gear would fix that and help his 60 foot at the same time.

Easy 12.50's with a 1.8 60' foot bud, keep at it!

I figured something was up, with those mods and the HP you are making, the MPH is a bit weak. The car should be running 11's easily when setup and driven to it's potential.
Shucks my wifes car just has a baby cam (210/218 and .551 lift) and headers, the rest is stock, no heads, no gear, nothing, and it goes 111 mph with an 1800 DA and 3750 race weight. It dips into the 12's on stock rubber. If I had your DA there is another MPH in the car at least.
I see no reason why yours shouldn't trap 115-118 mph with some rear gear and driving it harder, which is an easy 11 second slip.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 10-21-2010 at 03:53 PM.
