    Those traps look about right for your rwhp/tq #'s- its tough to launch a high powered stick car, but about 30 passes should get you at least a feel for what the car likes/dislikes. I bracket race a '98 SS with a 6-spd, and with roughly 330rwhp, its a handful to footbrake-I can imagine 400+rwhp makes it that much dicier, I have 300+ passes in this car with this setup, and I still bog occasionally, and spin occasionally, so lots of practice is required-just watch that rear if its still stock. good luck! By the way r.t.'s have no effect on e.t.'s- the only time a bad r.t. can hurt you is in bracket racing, trust me , I know from losing many rounds because I was parked on green!

    Take a chance, throw some ETs on there and see what happens. your 1/8th mile times, 60', and trap speed look very similar (almost identical) to mine in the 1/8. On street tires, traction is holding a great potential back. I threw on a pair of worn ETs and I went from your numbers in the 1/8 to a 1.84 60', 7.99 ET, @ 91 MPH, on a mild 3500 RPM launch. just by throwing on some different shoes...And I know with a new set of rubber and a 4500-5500 RPM launch I can get even better. And that is on my stock 10 bolt, stock suspension.

    I would but I am overseas right now. won't be back til Octoberish. But will def. try to swing out to DFW one of these times. I will for sure when I get back, gonna upgrade to a FAST 90/90 and get a retune, and maybe have Jason at TDP do another drivetrain upgrade for me.

    off subject but wondering who is good for tunes, I have been told SQR. What do you Dallas guys think???

    RPM in Lewisville or LG Motorsports in Wylie TX... some of the best around the nation not just DFW. pro shops.

    **Missed 4th gear since clutch was stuck to the floor, and would have been even quicker than 12.9 had i had 4th gear...

    so can anyone explain to me why i am trapping so high, and suggestions o what i need to improve to get my ET's down other than just telling me i need to lower my 60' time (that's a given). also, with traps that high what would an 'ideal' 1/4mi time be...?

    i do know that my car loves 3rd gear and it pulls HARD in that gear...

    DRIVER MOD NEEDED!!!

    First off your 60ft. sucks, you must be spinning your ass off. Second, with as much power as you have in that car you should run low 12's high 11's. What kind of tires are you running? What is your RPM at launch? Also your trap speed is matching what your 1/4 should be at. Maybe the car isn't making as much power as you think it is. (not an insult). I was reading one of your other threads and you said you where making 409/386rwhp when you made these passes. The car I just bought dynoed 405rwhp and my 1/4 time was 11.6 @ 122.8mph 60ft was 1.6. ( I took it to the track Sat.). Maybe have your transmission checked, your clutch might be slipping. With that much power you should be trapping at least 119mph to 123mph. And from what you said about 4-th gear up top maybe it is your transmission.
