12.5 @ 110.7 mph - LSx 69 Camaro

Took my 69 Camaro with the LS1 and 4L60E to the Orlando Speedworld yesterday.

2000 LS1
SLP stage III heads/cam
LS6 intake
36# injectors
Long tube headers X pipe and Imco muffs
Tuning by Jessie Bubb
TCI 2900 stall
Transgo shift kit
Ford 9" with 3.5 gears and 31 spline mosier axles
VB&P fiberglass rear springs
7/8" rear sway bar
Edelbrock Shocks
Goodyear EMT 285 40 18 rears with 20 psi
3/4 tank of 91 octane gas (oversized caprice plastic tank...about 20 gal on board)

The track was very sticky, but I didn't do a burn out. I launched by rolling off the line (left the trans in D3) and rolled into it.

I was happy to see 12.5, but thought my MPH should have been a bit higher. I know I could have done better on the launch as a 1.8 is not unheard of even on the Goodyear EMT (tires are fresh).

The car felt great all the way through, but I might have squeezed a bit more out by manually shifting.

Anyway...just happy to be in the 12s. On the way home I rolled up the windows, cranked the a/c on full blast, turned the stereo up, and set the cruise. It was 80 degrees in Orlando yesterday. Nice to have a hot rod that doesn't act like a hot rod when you are just cruising down the highway.
