That would be a lenient track official Jeff
That's what I like about the tracks accross the midwest. In most cases they let us slide under the radar. Out here, forget it. I couldn't even get a bone stock convertable through tech (13.50 rollbar cutoff for verts) So that parks just about all your topless street cars. I ran the chevelle once and got warned at 11.56 in the heat (still .07 from the cutoff) Pffff really?, Later when it cooled and went 11.42 I got parked. I got to the point that I just haven't been to the track much anymore unless I take a slower car.
Way to go ZMG, good pass and great video.

Thanks guys. Hell my buddy ran a 9.9x no cage nothing and didnt get a warning. Now if this wasn't test and tune it would have been a issue. Hopefully go 9s this year with the nitrous stock bottom end with rowing the gears.

Yeah, I've been to many tracks throughout the Midwest and never had much of an issue. Most times through tech they never even pop the hood. Usually that's a minimum to check if the battery is strapped down. Just asked if I had long pants and a helmet.....Okay your good....next!! Many guys running 10's and didn't even wear a helmet. Even my helmet is one I had from the 70's (open face and no snell rating) and that was just fine in their eyes. I've used that thing for years out there.
Out here, different story. Tech is strict, They want a snell rating, they ask 50 questions about the car etc...if they even THINK the car will go below the roll bar requirement you'll get the riot act and possibly turned around to the parking lot. When I ran the vert I had to play the dumb guy that had no clue on the time, told them it's my wifes car, never raced before, blah blah. He reluctantly let me through, then ran one pass at 12.76 and my day was over, haha. My chevelle is more of an unsuspecting sleeper so they didn't have much of a clue, tech was easier but my day still ended early. It's gotten to the point I don't even want to run a car that goes below 14 seconds so I don't have to spend $100 on an updated snell rated helmet every 2-3 years. It's gotten ridiculous out here.

Our track is pretty good about stuff -- rules are rules and they do take a look at the car and ask a few questions, but nothing like what you described, FBJ.

That was at gateway motorsports park. The tech guys see me enough and let me slide. I even ran a whole bracket weekend running 11.1x and they said nothing. The car will get a cage not because of them but for my safety. With nitrous I imagine 135+mph so it needs to be done.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
Outstanding times. Of course it is more than a cam only car. It's a great sounding ride.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

I'll be pulling the trailer out there this spring to pick up a car I left behind. Would be fun to blow the cobwebs out of it and refresh some old memories. Tempting, however date is ever changing it seems since you guys can't get a break from that nasty weather. I've been trying to get out there since December, lol. Probably pushed off till at least June now so I can be sure all that snow has melted first .
