ws6 16" rims?

Hi guys, i was just wondering if Pontiac made a ws6 16x8 chrome rim for 96-97'? And, how many styles of chrome rims did they make for those years? I was under the impression that all ws6 rims were 17".

No 16" ws6 wheels ever made bro...the standard 16 inch wheels do look relatively similar to the 17 WS6 wheel though. The 16's where chrome or aluminum, where the WS6 wheels were aluminium and polished aluminum(almost chrome looking). To be honest I am not sure if the WS6 wheels were ever availble in authentic chrome plating...

Thats what I thoght. Actually bought a set (sight unseen) from another city and the guy told me they were from a 97 ws6 16x8. I think the giveaway was that he told me the center caps say ABS on them, and not ws6! He assures me that they are chrome and not polished aluminum. I believe that they are stock T.A. rims from that year. What did the ws6 rim look like in that year anyway? And what size? Thanks for your reply, its much appreciated!! Gonna sleep better at night now knowing that. LOL

97 - was a 17x9, I think later on they went witha 17x9.5 but here is a pic of the WS6 17x9 on my car...I no longer have the wheels...they were Chrome plated...not OEM polished aluminum...

thanks for clearing that up! Basicaly identical rims, but the size is differnt. btw, great looking car! beautiful color. Have to apoligize, i like the stock rims better. Thats my opinion tho. Thanks Again!!!!

All true WS6 rims are 17x9's
The `96-97 WS6 Convertibles however came with 16" wheels. These cars came with the badge and the Ram Air hood, but did not have the suspension.

The WS6 wheel `96 thru early `01 is basically a 17 " version of the `95-97 standard 16x 8 wheel which was also available in chrome.
Below is a pic of the chrome 16x8 wheel, optional on all birds from `95-`02

The shady carlot up the road has a firebird or ta... Have not got a close look at it, but it had ws6 rims on it. or at least rims with a ws6 centercap. I just drove by it. I'm gonna go check em out and see if I can get em for my car.

I do know that a ws6 center cap will NOT fit in a standard 16 Trans Am wheel, i tried to buy them once for a polished 16 inch rim, found out they dont fit. So i got the black center cap that says ABS
