Yes, as long as you get the 10.5" wide wheels.

I thought where it says 315/35R-17 the "17" part was the size rim it goes on

Unless your TA is a hawk it has 16" wheels. If you go to the tire manufacturer's website, they should have recommended wheel widths for any particular tire. Like the others said before, the 9" wide wheel will work with a 275mm wide tire. Your 315's for rear are recommended on a 10.5"-12" wide wheel.

Ok.. so I guess I'll need new front tires too.. would I want the nitto's on all four or just buy some cheap tires for the front?

Hmm, well I would rather haev 17's all around, so I would end up getting new tires anyway in the front I guess.. just wondering if I should get any old set of tires or get nittos on all 4 that way i can switch em out if i need to..

Ok...let me see if i get this right...
You want 17x9 wheels in the front and 17x10.5 wheels in the rear.
If you want to do these wheels you need 275/40/17 in the front and 315/35/17 in the rear.
I wouldn't get some expensive Nittos in the front, you really don't have to. Here are the tires I have:
Front:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...d=004764&ar=40
Rear:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...000&mk=PONTIAC
The are mounted on 17x9.5 and 17x11 Black ZR1s. They stick really nice in cornering and "mild" launching, they have a great treadwear factor too (420 in the front and 280 in the back), and of course they're rated for upwards of 160 (which I hit at least once a month ).

Those aren't bad, but you gotta take into account the treadwear (how long they last). Also on the falken's read some of the reviews people have posted, I think you'll find that road noise will become unbearable if you try skimp on tires. Just my opinion...
Edit: I had Nittos on the car when I bought it and they were horrible in the rain, I would not suggest getting them if you plan on driving the car daily.
