    will my wheels rub?

I am about to purchace 19x10 (on rear only) replica corvette z06 wheels for my ws6 convertible that has strano 1.25 lowering springs. Im looking to go with 305 30 r19 tires and i was wondering if i would have rubbing issues? Also how much would the wheels slow me down?

They will rub at the point closest to the frame towards the door of the car.

I have 18" Z06 wheels on my WS6 with 305/35/18's and it rubbed until I took the wheels off and took a rubber mallet to the inside of the wheel well at the small spot where it rubs. You cant even tell the difference and they don't rub now.

I have the same wheels on my other car, they are a little bit less wide than the Z06 wheels. The Z06 wheels will rub.

Lol I have stock 17 inchers on my car. and I hit the inner fender lip. I don't know how you guys run such big wheels with no probs. I have strano springs with drag bags and I rub on my stock rims. I have 275/40/17's Thankfully no outside visible damage but i need to do something to the inner lip before it rusts. Last thing I need is to give my car cancer.

What do you mean? I have two birds, one with the Ruff racing rims and one with the Z06 rims. The Z06 rims rub a small part of the inside fender well

Hmm. Maybe the fender wells are a little more roomy on the 01's

I have the 18" Z06 wheels with 315 tires, they rub the "hump" in the fender under hard cornering, I'm running 5/16" spacers too. They will also hit the bumpstops if you jack the car from somewhere other than the pumpkin. A little Hammer work takes care of it, but be sure you do it with the back seat lowered because it is the pivot point for the seat.

I have 17 x 9.5 with aftermarket wheels and tires. 285-40-17 tires. Mine did rub a little on the inside frame rail on extremely hard cornering. I took a sledge to mine and carefully relieved my wheel wells for more room. I could probably get 335's in there now. But, then I'd have smaller tires up front. I am lowered about 1.5" in the rear as well. The offset will be different for different wheels so it's a trail fix and look for what might rub beforehand. You don't want to mess up your new tires.

It does help if you have a adjustable PHR too... but really, you should give yourself "at least" 1/2" of space betweem the tire and frame rail for safety.

After you have relieved your wheel wells get some rubberized underbody in a spray can and spray it in the wheel wheels all around. You'll not only protect the area relieved but, this will also quiet down the road noise a bit inside.
