Exclamation Why wont my 315's fit??

Ok i just bought 315's and sent my 17" rims out to get widened to 11" so the 315's can fit on em in the rear... Now i was told by various people on here that i would need to "bang" the bump stop in inorder to get the 315's to fit.... Thus i did so and they still dont fit!!!! I need help because i want these tires on!! Should i get spacers with stud extensions or is their a special way to jack up the car to get the tires to fit????

The problem is it looks like the piece the bump stop is mounted to is getting in the way... Should i try to bend it in or should i torch it off???

    Need help!!!!

Im not sure what u problem would be. I had 315's on mine without any bumpstop and they fit just fine besides for the occasional rubbin. But u can always do what a buddy of mine did and take a hammer and just beat the hell out of ur fender well. From the sound of it, u would think it would look like crap under there but u really cant tell..

pound the crap out of the inner fender well....leave the bump stops on....unless you jack up your car by the frame on the side. In some cases, the bump stops get caught in the lip of the inner wheel. But after you get them on there, without wheel spacers, look at the bump stops, see if they are gonna hit or not. You DO need to pound your inner fender wells a little though....

Well the car isn't lowered so i shouldnt have a problem with that... But i did read the write up and it helps alot with the visual aid.... So basically i should jack up the car from the axel to get a correct angle of the tire and so the bumpstop wont hit the rim..... I guess it's time to get the old sledgehammer out and start pounding away!!! If there is anything else i need to know or forgot please let me know!!!

    Question

How much does it cost to have your wheels widened to 11"s? I have 18" Y2K polished aluminum wheels, can I do that to these?

Yea I originally had the same prob you had when I first put on goodyear gsc 315's. All I did was take a hammer and hammer the fender well in a little bit and that stopped it from rubbing without any problems. Also depending on what tire you get all 315's run a little different in size I just put on the 315 nittos on my firehawk 17" rims and they fit alot better and smaller then most sized 315 tires do and I love them!

Has anyone used these on their 17" installs?

Yes, I usd them on my 96 when I went to 17 in wheels and 285/40 tires. They make the bump stops longer than stock to keep the tires from hitting if you bottom out the axle.

To hammer or not to hammer the fender wells.

The most important thing is the offeset (50mm being the correct o/s)

Second is the brand of tires with notto's being a little narrower the BFG's (and other brands)

I needed to recenter the rear end with an aftermarket adjustable panhard bar.

But I did not need the BFH with Nittos no rubbing yet!

Quick note-the street rod and drag race guys will take a baseball bat, and with another guy rolling the car forward slowly, roll the bat between the tire and the fenderwell to clearance the lip. If you've ever seen this done you would see how easy and probably less damaging this is than hammering. The one guy advocates removing the bumpstop lowering block. This would increase the possibility of clearance issues with the inner fenderwell, unless it is hitting the wheel or something I think I would leave it there or get one if you don't have one from the factory(like my car).

I put 305/35/18's on my '01 with factory Z06 wheels. I had to cut the bump stops off, get ARP longer wheel studs, and use a spacer. I hav rubbed once so I think I have to roll the fender lip in.
