wheels and tires
Hello everyone I have a quick question. I have a 02 firebird that I'm going to be getting new wheels and tires for. I believe the stock wheels are 16" and I have the stock tires as well (goodyear). What I would like to know is what wheel size would give me a nice overall appearance and a nice stance. Also, if I go with a 17" wheel (witch I have been thinking about) will I get the correct reading from the speedo and will the tire rub inside the wheel well?

Go with 17 or 18 and yes they will make your speedo off if the overall diameter changes. I just put 18x9.5 w/275/35/zr18 tires on a 00 TA and love the look but speedo is off 2-3mph according to gps (tom tom nav) and they don't rub anywhere.

Depends, 17s look good imo and give you the option to rotate your tires, if they are the same width. you could also go with the 17/18 staggered look, depending on how wide you go 18" tires can cost a fortune but the end result looks pretty good. Also could go with 18s all around, this is about as big of any size i would go on an fbody. Just roam around the site and look at different setup to see what you like.

What do you consider a low profile tire? You would have to get whatever tire keeps the stock overall diameter, otherwise your speedometer would be off.
You can use this chart to see what the overall diameter of the tire you chose is.
