Wheels keep breaking studs.
So I have had this problem for a while now and its finally cost me enough money recently i want to know how to fix it. Im running a set of 17X9.5 Torque Thrust II's on my car. What keeps happening is after taking the wheels on and off a few times over a couple of months the studs break. I go to put the lug nut on, it gets caught in the stud and wont go on or wont come off, Ive tried running some Cragar lug nuts that are slightly extended as well as every other kind of speed nut ive been able to think of. I think the problem/ i know the problem probably is the fact that the hubs do not match, the hub on the TT2s is bigger then the stock hub on the 99 Trans am I own. I guess my real question is, is this the problem? And if so how do i fix it?

where is the stud breaking? flush w/ the hub? Or is it just that the lug nuts bind on the stud. Sorry just wanted to clarify. Plenty of people run the TTs in that size that i cant see the wheel hub being an issue.

I broke a stock stud with my Bogarts on the car... I somehow managed to cross thread it or something.
I had to upgrade to longer studs to stay legal at the track, so breaking it wasn't a big deal: http://www.ls1.com/forums/f6/longer-...-studs-159470/

You might need hubcentric rings to keep the wheels flush with the hubs. Out almost sounds like the suds are bending with the wheels on the car. You're not using anti seize compound, are you?
