    wheel width questions

How much of a difference do you guys that have 17 x 9.5's see over 17 x 9's, performance-wise? I am back on the fence between buying another set of '02 WS-6 wheels for spring/summer/fall or something on the line of OE wheels 00-02 Z06's or C4 ZR1's. I seriously doubt I can find four factory Z06's these days for a good price anymore.

I don't have 17x9.5 but I would gather you would gain more grip in corners.

You can find Vette wheels all the time for sale. I have 17×9 front and 17×10.5 rear. American Racing. I think most Vette wheels bolt up or you may need spacers. I have a 275×40/17 tire you can get a 315 under with modifications to the fender lip and if I remember removing bump stops. Not for me the 275 is 11" wide tire.
I have a friend who has a set of c5 rims pm me and I could forward you his # if intrested

Are you talking about in the front or in the rear? There really isn't a difference considering you run the same size tire

Most of the Vette wheels I see are replicas, typically chrome or polished, and will not accept most high performance aftermarket brake calipers/ kits. My biggest thing is that I am looking for either 17 x 9.5's all around or 18 x 10.5's all around. Does your friend have factory '00 -'02 Z06's?

As per the original post, I was asking about the difference people have experienced when switching from 17 x 9's to 17 x 9.5's all the way around. The width of the wheel can make an impact on the way the tires sidewall flex and the overall contact patch.
