Weld Wheels files for Bankruptcy

Weld Wheel Industries, a Kansas City maker of high-performance automotive wheels, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this morning and plans to sell its assets.

The 21-year-old, family-owned business said it lost $1.1 million in the first six months of this year on net sales of $21.8 million. The abbreviated bankruptcy petition did not break down Weld Wheel’s debts, but said that the company has total assets of $31.6 million.

The bankruptcy documents stated that Weld Wheels has signed an asset-sale agreement with American Racing Equipment Inc. in southern California. Terms of the sale were not listed.

That REALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The same thing happened here in town with Cragar.............
IF YOU WOULD OF EVER TOLD ME CRAGAR WHEELS WAS GOING BANKRUPT I WOULD TELL YOU TO SET CRACKPIPE DOWN!!!! But look it did happen and now Weld too..............Fucking shame.

Yea I was gonna order some the other day but come to find out nobody has them. So I just ordered some Holeshot Holestars. I had to get them custom made for 7.5" backspacing. They will be in in 2 weeks. Also ordered some et streets to go with them and they are being shipped to me mounted, balanced, and rim screwed.

i have been waiting on 15x10 prostars from jegs for a month. the last time a called was monday and was told they would have some by the end of the month. i also wrote weld and was told there was a shortage of material to make the wheels but it is arriving daily.
