Torque Thrust - Weld Marks

Since I know there is a plethora of TTII owners around I thought I'd ask a simple question - do all of the TTII's have the same black/gray weld line where the two pieces are joined on the back? I received my set of polished TTII's this week and was a bit surprised that the weld was so dark. I don't think you'll be able to notice it once on the car but I'd thought I'd ask you folks to see if this is the norm. Thanks in advance for your time...

Well I believe I answered my own question. I suspect with enough polishing the "black" will come off the weld. The only downside is that the wheel weights have been applied over the weld residue...

Keep an eye out for the weights. When I used to install custom wheels, I made sure I put the sticky weights near but not on the weld so the weights wouldn't fall off.
