    Tirerack vs Onlinetires

    There is a lot of love on here for TireRack but I just bought up a set of Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals: 275/40/17 Front & 295/35/18 Rear from Onlinetires.com with the difference being $61.80 after taxes and shipping which should cover mounting and balancing.

    TireRack.com: $801.92
    Onlinetires.com:$740.12

    Onlinetires is worth shopping, especially considering they offer free or 50% off shipping for select tires.

    Just thought I'd share!

    Online tires do have great prices except shipping. I'm not sure where there headquarters are located but it was over $130 to ship to N.C. for 4 tires compared to tirerack's $40.

    I just ordered today and mine are coming from:

    I bet they only have one warehouse and N.C. is pretty far away. Tirerack is great for having multiple locations to pull from for both shipping and inventory purposes. I have ordered from both and like them both however for me this time Online tires was cheaper.

    Yeah, this is true. I priced a set, the shipping was 3x what TireRack's was.

    How good is Tiresavings.com? Have you dealt with them before? I purchased two Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions a few months back for the rear and want to get two more for the front. There's a $50 difference with them when all is said and done. If they are a decent site, I'll buy there.

    No, I haven't dealt with them before. I just stumbled upon the website while searching for tires. However, FWIW, I did mention them to another member here, who later reported having a good experience with them.
