    tire size question

right now i have 275/40/18 on my rear on a 18/9.5 rim, would a 295/45/18 tire fit on that rim, and would it rub anything?

when you go wider you need to go shorter (the middle number needs to get smaller) You would have a 4x4 look if you did that. The 295 will fit, but might hang over the sides of the rim a bit. You need to step it down to a 295/35 at least to keep from getting WAY too much sidewall on there and making your speedo farther off

The tread on the contact patch is going to start getting rounded also. I have 285/35/18 on the rear on a 9.5 and it looks like if I'd go any wider I would start losing contact patch area. I'm thinking of getting a pair of 10.5's for the rear the next time I get new rear tires for I can go wider.

i just know i had 275/ 35s and i thought the sidewall was way to thin and didnt fill up the wheel well enough, but maybe in a 295 it would be better

Right now i have 245/40/18s on some amercian racing rebels that are 18x10. I am thinking about getting some 275/35/18 for the rear. would these fit properly because the dealer cant promise they will and i will be stuck with them

can someone post a pic of a 295/35/18, i just want to see how tall the sidewall is before i buy them, i hate my 275/35/18s, the walls so short it ruins the look, but on a 295 it should be a little taller, a picture would help alot, thanks for everyones help so far

the tire would be 2.5" taller than stock size.... go with a 35 series... better matching sizes

chose between thicker sidewall or bigger rim... not both.
you can always go to 17s.
