Tire Rant and warning... anyone ever use these?

So as we all know our cars have the ability to shorten a tires life quite effectively and because the 275/40 tires don’t carry a tread life warranty I figured I’d buy the best ones possible. I thought that those tires where the BF Goodrich Gforce Super Sport A/S (the ones that have the 1 g turn advertisement)….man was I wrong, I felt like I was out of control the every time I punched it I must say that these things felt more unsafe in dry weather than the bald tires I had on my car in the rain. So I went with some Firehawk Indy 500’s and those things may be where I stay from here on out so far I love them.

Second the KDWs I don't drive my car much so I can't really comment on the tread life but when I do take the bitch out I'm satisfied. They do need to warm up a bit before you really abuse them but they are pretty sticky.

Nittos here too. Goodyears and BF Goodrich aren't worth the money. The 555's are awesome!

I had KDW's on the GTO....tread life sucked. Good tire....just too soft for a DD IMO.

Pirelli P Zero Neros. Great in the rain, break em loose on dry pavement when it's cold. Hook hard.

I am with ORION. I had them on my GTO as well. Didnt last long and they were pricey for what they are. The Nitto 555 tires were awesome and would buy them again. Same goes for the RE-01r tires I had. Those were fantastic.

Tire life is more dependant on the individual and his/her resistance to blowing the tires off.

    I love my Nitto Invo's

I got about 18,000-20,000 out of my last set on my TA. I've never had any kind of performance tire on either of last two F bods that got more than 20,000 miles out of. How long did yours last exactly?

GSD3's saved my life with a blowout at 150 that was caused because I did 150 mph with a known nail in the tire. They only get about 20,000 miles and I drive the hell out of my car. I have also raced a car that I was neck and neck with on stock tires and I pulled a car and a half consistently out of the hole by changing to GSD3's. I would do a commercial for free.

I have the BF goodrich G-force Sport tires. Crazy sticky. Made a WRX drivers jaw smash through his floorpan on an exit ramp. he's a buddy of mine so when he pulled up to me at the light I got the "holy hell I've never seen an american car move like that" I'm suddenly no longer shunned by the rest of his ricer friends.... ha!

I'd get these again... bout 600 a set.
