Tire diameter difference
How much of a diameter difference can you have front to rear without tripping the ABS and/or TCS systems? The setup I am considering would have a 0.8" difference in diameter.

I'd at least get a cheap hand held programmer to set up the new tire size. That could be enough to cause problems, but would be close.

If you would have an issue, then you'd figure out the difference from front to back... But, I think you'll be OK !!!
I disabled my traction control, years ago... I don't even notice that yellow light on the dash anymore...

I know the system has to compensate for turns and such where the wheels are going to rotate at different speeds. But I'm just not sure how much of a difference makes the system think something is awry. Guess there is only one way to find out...

i know for a fact newer gm cars/2008 and up this can affect stabilitrak-stability control.!!. already saved me from a crash in unknow road coditions at night -ice/snow, too fast for conditions !! fellow put 16 inch drag tires on old steel wheels on 2008 ss v8 impala fwd/ runs 13.5 at 103 mph .. noticed light comes on when going around turns on the street.. impala ss v8 is close to stock..rkvette

Im not sure if this is the same but when i went from stock TA rims (16"s) to 17" aftermarket rims, i went with 245/45s, which made my tire "taller" then originals, ( which i think made it look better anyway filling in the wheel wells). woth that said, no ABS or Traction control issuse. The only thing out of the norm is the fact that the SPEEDOmeter reads faster than what you are going. Maybe 2 or 3 mph. SO the SPEEDOMETER reads 90 but your doing 88. no biggy lol OTHER than that, a quick tune from a hand held and thats that. hope that helps.

Good question Jeff. The only thing I've seen on this was you have about a 5% variance allowance on most cars.

Jeff, the 5% is on the total circumference.
