    ? SLP ZR1 wheels

i know these wheels are 17x9, but are they stamped w/ a SLP logo or maybe a GM logo? or is SLP the only ones that make 17x9 ZR1 wheels?

SLP doesn't make the ZR1 wheels. They are made by A-Mold in Japan. Some have the GM logo and some don't. No SLP logo on them. They were made in 17x9 for the Camaro and in 17x8.5, 17x9.5, and 17x11 for the Corvette.

thanks for the info! I saw an AM logo on the wheels. so whatever slp sells then are made by A-Mold. correct?

yours are aftermarket wheels though, right? i was looking at the oem wheels. i was getting ready to order one wheel from ebay and realized that they were 17x9.5's and i had 17x9's on my car.

what is the biggest tire you can put on that 17x9 stock oem SS Zr1 Style rim? I was just curious about front and rear tire sizes. Thanks

some people say 275's are the widest you should go... but some people have slapped some 315's on the rear.

thanks for the compliment. i have 275s up front but if you decide to put a 315 on the rear on a 17x9, the wall of the tire will wear way faster than if you had a 17x11 rim to go with it.

    yes sir!

**but dont let the ls1techies catch you running 315's on a stock rim, or you will be perma-banned by the all knowing self proclaimed gods of f-bodies themselves**

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

i had 315's on my rears and it felt like shit-you can actually feel the car slinging around inside the wheel. Think about it, it's like a hover craft the way that the rim is sitting...FLOATING inside of the tire. It fits, but i don't suggest it. Just look at the bulging sidewall-this is baaaaadddd...BAAAADDD.

285's and 275's has a nice flush sidewall, i suggest those.

Different tires fit wider/narrower even though they all are 315/35-17 size.

The Nitto's measured 11.25" and my new Yoke's measure 12.75" when mounted on the same rim.

Take ts|s advice as he found them "FLOATING inside of the tire".

you can put nitto 315s on a 17x9 but i wouldnt put anything else on there.

nittos are skinnier than say mickey thompson et streets.

the 275 mickeys are about as wide as the 315 nittos from what ive seen.

i have the nittos, they fit fine.

yes, it was noted in my thread that Nitto's for some reason tend to run narrower than other brands of 315's out there, why that is, no one really knows...

however, that being said, i have to agree with both TSS and SOW that the Goodyear's on the rear of TSS's car are way too big for the rims, and should be mounted properly on an 17*11" rim...

his pic shows the real potiental danger of running a 315 series tire that has that wide of a tread width is to dangerous to mount safely on a 17*9" rim...
