School me on wheels
My car has discontinued boyd coddington wheels on it. 17 x 9? maybe 17 x 9.5? The tires are 275/40's if it helps. The tires are old and about shot. Also the wide tires up front really like to dart around on rough streets. Id like to find 17 x 8's for the front, new rubber for the wide rear wheels, and leave 2 spares. I have only found this ebay auction so far.

What offset do I need up front for a 17 x 8 wheel? Any other specs I need to worry about?
Thanks in advance!

0 offset is for the older camaros and other rwd vehicles. If they are 2 pc they might be able to replace the hoops of the wheel. Call the manufacturer and see if they can even do it.

Okay Im going to let that auction go into the abyss. I just would like to know what offset I need. I dont like the idea of having a discontinued set and one wheel leaks already. Im probably going to keep an eye out for vette wheels this winter for a spare/track set.

Does anyone besides me not understand backspacing and offset when it comes to wheels? Anyone who would like to shed some light on the issue, please don't hesitate!

read the tech section on tirerack.com for the basics. Im probably going to have to call up tires plus or something to find out factory offset since nobody else knows.
