blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
only way you will see that safely and without the ugly buldging sidewalls is the nitto 555r DRs..they tend to run small..my 315s are on ttm's that are 10.5 and you can tell there is some room to go bigger to sit flush with the lip of the rim..so nitto 315s are like 290-295s (my guess)

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
315/35/17 = roughly 26" tall
17" wheel = 17" tall.
Leaves roughly 9" (hehehe) of tire. Split that for top and bottom.
You want less than 3" of sidewall....you want 19's.

if you are wanting 3" sidewall with 315/xx/17s..you will need to find either 30s or 25s in terms of sidewalls for those dimensions
315/30/17 = 3.72
315/25/17 = 3.1
mind you this will be incredibly unsave

hahahahahaha you guys are all missed yep in the freakin head lol
lets clear this up some lol is it going to be a 4.## or 3in? thats a big diff.....i know i know, im being picky but this is going on a protouring 79 t/a that im building and i want to get the right look.....im already pissed i cant fit a 11in rim and they dont make a 10in in the rim i want unless i go with 15s and that aint happening sooooo we/i am stuck with a 17x9.5 in the rear and 17x8 in the front
BTW the car is lowered 2inchs all around
as long as i can get a good 3inchs or more of sidewall on a 9.5 rim without it bulding like a mofoLast edited by Blackbird WS6; 08-05-2010 at 01:00 PM.

275/40/17 gives you about 4.6 ...that is a good size for that size rim.
