Question New Tires to Replace GS-D3's

I unfortunately need to get some new tires quick. One of my GS-D3's has a hole in the sidewall, and the only place I can find a replacement tire is charging me close to $400. For one tire (+ mounting, etc.).

So, I'm going to replace two rear (or front) tires, instead. I live in Ohio, but the car is stored in winter & never sees snow. I'd like to find a Max Performance summer tire comparable to the GS-D3.

I'd say dry traction & hydroplaning resistance are most important to me. It rains here a decent amount, and, while I don't plan on racing in the rain, I also don't want to die. Treadlife & price would probably be next, followed by road comfort & road noise.

    Any suggestions?

From reading around here & Tire Rack, tops on my list so far are: BFG KDW2, Michelin PS2, Nitto NT555, Nitto NT05, and Continental ExtremeContact DW.

Got it narrowed down to KDW2, NT05, ExtremeContact DW, and Firehawk Indy 500.

Will probably go with the ExtremeContact. I really like the NT05, but also don't want to be replacing tires every year for a little extra traction. At least, until I get a 9" rear & maybe a torque arm...

The KDW2s are good tires. I have them on the front and had them on the rear of mine before I replaced the rears with G-Force Sports.
