Need good tires for my TA.
I'm not looking for and all out race tire, I need a good set of tires that are better than the Kumho Ecsta tires I have on my TA now. I have found them to be hard and gives a bad ride.Every crack in the road can be felt.I know that the trans Am is a sports car but there have to be a tire that gives a better ride and have some performance made in the tire also. Give me some Ideals.

Many run Nittos or Raptors. Seem to have good reviews.

I will have the same problem soon...as a matter of fact I am also running Kumho Ecsta. Cheap, poor ride and noisy.

I know tires make for a harsh ride if you have some cheap-o's, but there are also other suspension components that can play a role in that also.
Are you still on the stock De-Carbon shocks and springs? If so, how many miles?
I have Nitto 555r Drag Radials and I like them. I know you're not looking for a DR, but I'm just noting my experience with Nitto in general. A lot of people have just the Nitto 555 extreme tire and seem to like them.

Yes I still have the stock shocks and springs and I have 41,000 miles on them. I checked the shocks and they are still find, but this is a promblem that I have had every since I brought these tires.I need something better, the car rides like a tank. I need some so I will be getting them in Dec.I don't drive the car that much but the tires have been on it 4or5 years, The tires looks like new but they have cracks in them, want to be safe not sorry.

Silver- 1998-Camaro SS
Tires
Goodyear GSD3's are the best tires I have ever had for my 1998 Camaro SS. In the rain, it rides great with no hydroplaning and the tires fit slightly over the rim to protect it from curb damage.

Nitto NT555 Extreme here as well. Softer and lighter and don't take the bumps as hard as my old BFGs.

I bought Continentals all season earlier in the year. They are great so far. Ride is much better than the BFG's they replaced. They don't follow the road grooves at all. When I need rear tires I will go with these.

I am thinking about getting the Contis for my factory 17s for the winter months. Those are nice too.
