Mickey Thompson or Nitto
I am lookig at 2 different tires either the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial or the Nitto 555DR. Does anyone have any comments or opinions about the 2 tires. Also how many miles can I expect to get out of this type of tire. I currently have the stock tires but can't hook up at all so I thnk one of these will be a good option. I only do street driving on the weekends, not a daily driver or Strip car.

MT = 3000 miles but hooks 50 times better.
Nitto = 15K miles but won't cut the best times with an M6 car.

I have an A4 and am looking to hook on the street. The only major mod I have is a 3.73 gear, some other minor mods. The current tires I have I spin through 1st and 2nd grea and then some. I at least want to be able to hook so I am not spinning while the rice burners are hooking!!!

Nitto DR's hook me okay on the street.
On the street and aired...I thought they both acted the same.

Considering mine is almost stock except for the gear and the exhaust. I also have a SLP air box, do you think the NittoDR's will hook ok??? Also if I put the DR's on the rear what should I go with on the front. I was looking at the Nitto 555 but was unsure if I should just put the DR's on the front since they are the same price and then I would be able to rotate them to get more life out of them???

I would think the Nitto's would hook fine for you.
Some of it could be lack of suspension too.

Blue- 2002 Z28 Camaro M6
I was able to use a friend of mines ET streets this weekend and they actually slowed me down. This is mostly becuase of the power range of my cam and having 3.42s. They did not like the shock from my clutch dumps and would start to haze a bit (similar to street tires) but once they caught I would bog way down. In fact today I ran much faster then last night with just a tire change.
ET streets are a good sticky tire, I just did not have the supporting mods to make use of them. My friend however today ran a 7.12 in the 1/8th with them and had no trouble with getting out of the hole.
