Lowering 315 17-11's all around

Have 315x17 sumitomos all around with original SS 17x9 and knockoff Decarbon shocks. Handles pretty bad. Read rims should be at least as wide as the tires, wider rims than tires even better, their stiffer. The knockoff Decarbons are too soft. Waiting to buy the replica 17x11 50mm from OE-W and the bilsteins. Would prefer the 315 18x10.5 but already have the 17’s tires and either way the tire-rim combo is too expensive.

Can I lower the car with the 17x11? Maybe Eibach or single rate? Prefer road racing setup, not drag racing.

no problem... i have both 18x10.5 w/ 315s and 17x11 w/ 315s on all corners... pix in signature.
Which bilsteins are you getting ?
I'd get Strano springs w/ revalved shocks.

Springs: strano 1.2 lowering springs SP141. Are these custom Vogtland Lowering Springs?

For that package Sam was re-valving the HD's.

He is having some problems getting HD's atm though.

Sam's "Strano Springs" are made by Vogtland (in Germany) but are not the same rates that Vogtland uses for their own springs for our cars.

Sam: That is a Bilstein's kit, their springs and shocks. I don't particularly like it, but you get folks buying it from time to time. You can do better. Springs have nothing to do with the 11's. That fit is the offset, tire width (actual width) and car itself. The springs don't make the car lower at the end of the travel as the bumpstops are the limiting factor and are used with stock height springs. Some folks fit 11's without trouble, others need to roll fenders, play with spacers, etc. because not all tires and rims are exactly the same actual size.

Sam: Not very well, no. When you take two parts never meant to work with each other, the result is generally not good. If you need to save money, I'd recommend an AGX/SP141 setup first, because at least you have adjustability and extra damping built into that shock. They just don't ride as well with the control the Koni's give.

Camarosspr mail to TPIS: Are the 800-128 and 800-129 Magnum Custom Valved shocks good alternative to the SLP bilsteins? Will they last and perform as well? The cost is much less (160+90=250).
