looking for a good drag race set up

Ok getting back into racing again and I am looking for a good combo at the track. Should I put some slicks on the stock SS 17's or buy some different wheels. I guess MT's drag radials are still the best? or is there something new and better out there? Thanks.

Are you going to run the DR's all the time??
Or do you have a set of wheels to put on the car for the track? Might not be a bad idea to pick up a set of 16" salad shooters and put the MT ET radials on them.

Those MT radials hook nicely. I used those last season and had okay luck on them. Conditions changed on me and I never got a solid launch with them. Either spun or bogged.
For your car, those would probably work great.

I am going to try something a little closer to a true slick though.

Ya I plan on putting them on at the track only. Will the 16's work ok with my 17's up front? or get 16's all the way around with skinnies up front? + I have the 4.30's too small of a tire I might have to shift to 5TH

    I have 4.11's and the M6. With a 26" tire, I can get to 124MPH at 6700 RPMS.

    Your top speed is 112MPH in 4th gear at 6200 RPM's with 4.30's....on a 26" tire.

No problems with different size wheels as long as you have a rear tire as tall as the front. It can be taller in the rear though.
