How wide of wheels can i fit on my IROC?
I've got a 1988 Convertible IROC Camaro with an LT1 and I'm wanting to buy some aftermarket wheels but i don't know how wide of tires i can go with on the back or even what will fit on the back. The fronts I'll figure out myself, it's lowered so that'd be something only i could check out. I also have the original IROC wheels with the center caps and very little curb rash so if anyone is interested in those go ahead and post on here too.

Did you put on an adjustable panhard bar? 245 wide tires will fit no problem. What diameter wheel are you going with?

I asked my friend what he had on his Blue IROC Vert. He said he had 17x8 with 245/45r17 tires and had no problems. You may be able to go wider but I know those will fit for sure.

well i was thinking if i could find some nice looking wheels 17x10 on the back and then for the fronts i'd figure out a way to make em fit but probably would stick with the stock width and height. they're the 16s im not sure the width. used to be big into ls1 trans ams then this car came up and i didnt wanna let it slip past me. it's a real smooth runnin lt1 cammed up and such so really i dont know anything about the car other than under the hood. i dont want anything that wouldn't fit with my lowering kit its down 1.75 all the way around and i dont have the stock springs. pretty sure 17s with some lower profile tires would fit easy on the back its just the width im concerned with. aaaand while im typing.. about how much would it cost me to replace my rear drum brakes with discs? i dont want like a big break kit just a swap from drums to discs

With it lowered that much you would have to measure carefully. I remember my vert had some extra metal in the wheelwell for where the top folded down. For discs in the rear the easy way would be to find a disc rear from an 80's car. Just get the proportioning valve from the donor car too. You could do 17x8 all around with 245-45-17 tires with no problems. Does the car have subrame connectors?

With the 17 x 8's you can also go with a 255/45/17.
BTW, take a look at the Group A Wheels ROH RT wheels. They list a 18 x 9 and 18 x 10 combo for the 1982-1992 Camaro.
PM sent.

Best thing is to call the wheel place and double check an 18x10 may fit stock but now lowered. I had to roll my rear fenders on my 98 TA for my 18x10's there fine sitting but reubbed on bumps and pothole you don't always see. Especially tearing through a 40mph corner on a backroad at 75 or 80 and there's a small dip it'll jolt the suspension enought to rub especially if my shock are set soft and I have a 1.25 drop. I would say a 17x8 with a car that's got almost a 2" drop unless you don't mind some fender rolling like I did. I had almost sold my 18x10'R and 18x8.5f and for a set of 17x9's to clear the fender without having to roll it but I liked my wheels so I rolled the lip.

http://www.thirdgen.org/tech/images/...amaroIrocZ.jpg I don't know how to post a picture so i just linked ya. This looks like z06 wheels on an iroc? i didn't know they'd fit? i was checkin out some zr1 wheels and they have the same fit as the z06. The website said they fit 4th gen camaros and vettes from 88 til now. Does anyone know if i could fit the zr1 wheels with little to no mods? they have a staggered set thats 17x8.5 and 18x10.5

also is there any market for stock 16" iroc wheels still with the center caps? my friend said he couldnt find center caps for less than like 50 bucks apiece. i figured i could maybe get 200-300 bucks out of both wheels and caps?
