    how to adjust speedo for wheels



    2000 camaro ss Slp , I was told computer will not compensate for rims only gear ratio! Is this true?

    The computer will not adjust automatically for tire heights.
    Or gears.

    You will need to get a tuner to change it...don't use a handheld programmer though.
    What size wheels are you putting on?? What tire size? If the height is the same as stock (26") it won't be any different anyways.

    ^^^ what he said. I changed gears and mine is off by 7mph. I need to make some calls to find someone that will do a deal for just correcting my speedo until I do more mods. Otherwise I'm sending mine to Frost.

    It's off by a percentage, btw, not a specific amount.
    if you go from 3.42 to 3.73, your speedo will be off by 9% regardless of your speed. so when your speedo shows 55, you're going 50, kind of thing... provided you did not change the overall diameter of your tires too.

    haha, thanks for the tip now... I just realized that yesterday when I finally got on the highway and everyone was flying past me. Figured that out pretty quick.
