    Help removing caliper bolts

Hey, I tried to change my rotors the other day, but I couldn't get the the darn calipers off. Apparently the bolts have 'lock tight' on them. I've almost rounded off one the bolts and I cracked a socket on another one. What's the trick to getting them off?

First I would soak them in some pb blaster overnight. Then either get a short socket or a boxed wrench and get a breaker bar on the end of the ratchet or wrench. With a breaker bar you should be able to break them loose. Don't go slaming and yanking on the bar thats a good way to strip the bolt. Apply even steady preasure untill it breaks loose. If you stripped a bolt your probably going to need one of those craftsman bolt out sets they work pretty damn good.

If you are working on the driver side caliper, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right to get better access/leverage on the bolts. Turn the wheel all the way to the left when doing the passenger side.

I had the same problem... just changed my rotors and brakes yesterday.

    1. Make sure your turning the right direction, you could be tighting instead of loosing. "Lefty loosy, righty tighty". This could be confusing b/c your working on the oppsite direction.
    2. Place the wrench on it and give the wrench a couple of firm taps with a rubber hammer to break up the dirt.

Hope this helped... Worked with mine. Love the new brakes
