Light pewter metallic- 2000 Formula Ram Air
Have you ever purchased 'Z' rated tires at Sam's Club?
I am looking for a new set of 'Z' rated tires for my Firebird and I noticed on the Sam's Club website some pretty good prices on tires.
P275/40ZR17 98W DUNLOP SP® SPORT 5000
Ultra high-performance All-Season radial; original equipment: 03-04 Lexus LS 430.
Item: 674407
Price: $176.42
Goodyear® Eagle HP - P275/40ZR17 S2
Item: 675084
Price: $207.88
One thing I am curious about is the 98w of the Dunlop vs the 93w of the Goodyears currently on my car. I think I saw something about it being a weight rating. How important is this?
Thanks,
NY

tires are same no matter where you buy them from. the 98w 93w wont make a difference. the goodyear hp's are shit tires i would go with the dunlops or look for some michelins or even some bfg's. I work at a tire place and never see anything good from goodyears. if you run a flat on them for like a block the tire is screwed. doesnt look like it from the outside but the inside is all messed up.
If you do go goodyear dont get the hp maybe F1's if anything

414 RWHP 395 RWTQ- 00 Black Ram Air Trans Am
For those listed prices I'd personally spend the same amount on Tirerack.com and get some BFG KDW. Think they were goin for $175ish last time I looked.

Thanks for the reply guys.
I am actually interested in the BFG KDW's. They were ranked pretty highly vs the other tires on tirerack.com, I like the dry (D) wet (W) focus of the tire, and the price is $148/tire + $40 s & h. I think I am going to buy these tires and have them shipped to the Pontiac dealership for mounting. I have a coupon for a front end alignment and another coupon for 10% off all work.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
I have bought tires several times from Sams and they are great. Once I got my SS they said they would not install the tires on it because they did not have the right equipment to it. But they do have a great return policy and they are local. They were the absolute cheapest out of tirerack, discount tire, and all the others I checked. That was on Nitto 555s so it may be different on other tires.

Yea I thought the same thing. It was because of the stiff side walls is what they said. But all I had was my stock 17" wheels which I dont think are that exotic.
