black- 1998 Camaro SS
gettin no traction need good tires!
hi guys, i need to get a good rear tires for the 98 ss. i just got done doin heads/cam/intake/headers swap and throwin on 100 shot of nitrous. i dont have the nitrous on yet but even without it i cant get this thing to hook up. even from a roll i hit the gas and they just start spinin. the tires that are on it are almost new kumho ecsta asx 275/40 17. what is a a good tire that gets realy good traction? im just not sure on what to get. im kinda worried about gettin drag radials bc im still running the 10 bolt. i havent had it to the track yet but just on the road it wont stick and thats not even full throttle.

A friend of mine ran 275/50R15 BFG Drag Radials on a 5.0 with a stock 8.8" rear end for a long time without any problems till he decided to drop the clutch at 4,000 RPM. I realize this car had far less HP then you are probably making.

2007 Cadillac Escalade- 98 Camaro SS, 09 G8 GT
The 8.8 is a much stronger rear so you really can't compare the 2. I ran the Nitto 275 40 17 DR's on my old SS and liked them for street driving. They were decent in the rain and hooked pretty well on the street. Just my $.02.
