fitament of 06 18x8 GTO wheels on 4th gen F body

Im tempted to try a set of 18x8s from an 06 GTO on my 97 Firebird.
What size tire will fit and will I have any issues other than the obvious center hub size difference.Im looking at 245-45x18s.Backspacing seems to be same
as my stock 16s.

If your not getting them free I wouldn't mess with getting any thing less than at least 9" wide to run 275's. you can do 255's on 8", but I wouldn't go any bigger than that.

That's the width of tires you shouldn't go smaller than if your going to swap wheel's and tires. especially in the rear.
