Drag tires replaced every season?
Heard it is wise to replace the DOT slicks/slicks every season.
Any truth to it?

Only when your a dumbass like me and spin them on dry pavement and ruin them.
I have no idea, never heard that before. Why would you have to do that? If they are in a heated garage especially, I dont see why you would, but I obviously dont know jack about slick... none the less drag radials.

I dunno about you but I go threw at least 1 pair and sometimes 2 pair of a race season!! LOL So no need to replace them.

I make 35 passes at most a season.
Hoosier QTP's still have plenty of rubber left before getting to the bars.

I know on more serious race cars, after enough passes, it starts to break down the sidewalls and sitting over the winter really seems to effect them. I'm not sure if this is the same reason for other slicks or not.

All race compounds drop off with age.
It is all in the winter storage if a second season of any race rubber is okay esp. with us folks that endure a winter season.
This is the reason that companies like Hoosier sell off all the stock at the end of the year at 'firesale' prices....

Well I have let my tires set over winter and have never had a problem with them. I pull the same 60fts and run the same et's with no problems.

Depends on how fast you are going on whether or not they will still work. With my dads car, after the winter was over, even if he had only made a couple passes before the winter, it would never hook very well the first time out. New set of tires and its like it was before winter. It may also vary between tire companies and tire construction.

I will bring the Hoosier's inside then for winter and see how they do in the spring.
