Wow... a lot of you guys are having much better luck than me. I'm on my 4th 10 bolt. Broke the first one pulling out into traffic when my car was completely stock (M6). Broke the second one the same way. Broke the third one with my new engine/headers/etc... but I was missing on one cylinder, and I broke it from a downshift to 4th going down the highway doing 70. I've never had on drag slicks, drag radials, or anything wider than the stock 275s, and I've never dropped the clutch at more than 2k. I won't even think about DRs until I can afford a 9".

Yeah... I know... all of that could have paid for a 9", right?

Well, personally, I'd rather repair a 10 bolt with cash, than splurge on a 9" with credit. To add to that, I keep being told that I should never break them with street tires (without wheel hop, which I have zero wheel hop with my suspension upgrades). I just need to put back some cash for the next time it breaks and be done with it... lol.

I have Nittro 316 drag radials and HAD a 10 bolt. I am now buying a 9" on Monday. Just some food for thought.

    best street tires?

as far as what? cost? wear? traction?

i personally run Sumitomos. they are ~$100ea and i abuse the hell out of 3 sets for what id pay for 1 set of goodyears. they hook pretty well and do good inthe wet.

Personally I'd get the drag radials and start saving for the rear end. If not, well your mod list may as well just stop here, cuz what's the point of moddin the car if you are still spinning.
