Have cookie jackass. The wheels weigh more and will make your car slower through the traps and 12.9 is blazing fast.

If you can't 60', you'll be fighting with more mods to run same times as before. I bet comparing 16-17, 16-18, 17-18 there will be more than a 10th of a sec in the 1/4. I would say at least a 10th or more in your 60' unless you are stock or near stock.

Also note that tires can be heavy too. When people weigh wheels stock vs new, they don't have the tires on. The new tires are going to weigh less if the same width.

I bet you would be slighty quicker with stock wheels. They almost certainly wiegh less than the 18s. Maybe you would run 12.8x @ 109.9x with the less wieghty 17s?

not really worried about hittin a 12.8.. cuz i'm right their.. and i will hit it when i go back to the track.. as far as the 17's go i agree with you but its not that much difference.. baiscally what i'm tryin to state is i ran 13.1 with 17's switch it up to 18's and i'm still within that range..

Dude. I am not owned LOL!!!!!!

I never said 18s would slow anyone down 1/2 second or anything like that. It all depends on total tire/wheel weight. It is possible that the 18 inch tire/wheel may weigh less, if it has a smaller sidewall, to be the same overall height as the 17" assembly

I was runnin' 13.0x @ 109.x last October, with a best that night of 12.89 @ 109.89. I would like something stickier on the back, since my best 60' that night was a 2.01, but I have no issues with my stock differential (yet) and want to keep it that way. Bring on the Spring!!

Just something to keep in mind, every 10 pounds you add in rotational(wheels, tires, flywheel, driveshaft, rear end gears basically anything the motor has to turn to make you go) mass is the equivelent to 100lbs of body weight. So going by the common knoledge that every 100lbs off usually equals a tenth in the 1/4 an 10 extra pounds of rotational mass would slow you down one tenth. This of course is in the world of perfect physics since you rarely see someone run the exact same times over and over again you will probably not notice the loss.

Going from 17's to 18's you would adding 25-30+lbs depending on wheel and tire combo. Just watch what wheels you pick but most f-body wheels are pretty light you just don't want to pick some 50lbs steel wheels that would definelty slow you down. Honestly the weight of a 18 would't stop me from putting them on, as I will be one day when I got the $.

I went to the track with the stock 16x8 02 ten spoke z rims and ran a 13.0 at 110 with a 60 ft of 2.1-2.2.

Bought some new Z06 rims that are 18x10.5 in the rear, and am running 13.1-13.2at 109 all day long. Yes it did slow me down a tenth oh well. The car looks 100 times better.

But I got the firestone firehawk tires and can not for the life of me hook up. I am doing 2.3-2.4 on the 60ft. Just bought some drag radials the other day and got some 17x11 ZR1 rims. Can you say high 12's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do lose a little with the bigger rim, but once again no big deal.
