    Ditching the Beat Up Rims

So i just want to clear a few things up.
Ive looked for these answers and find multiple answers for them...
Question #1---whats the size of an OEM 1999 WS6 17" tire? Is it 8.5" or 9"??
    Question #2(might be answered by #1)---would 275/40R17s fit a Corvette C6 rim 17x8.5?
Question #3---where is the best place to buy C6 rims in terns of prices? (not ebay or craigslist)
    http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com...firebird.shtml
this place makes replica wheels. How about these?

    1)stock ws6 rims are 9" wide.

    2) yes it could fit. but a little large for the rim

    3) i found oe a good site..just google c6 rims and chances are the first 3 will be the most popular sites.

And for the c5 is +56mm with 7.45 backspacing?

yes. they have just a hair over 5500 miles on them and they are still in great shape. its only $32 to take them off my old rims, put them on my new ones, and get them balanced and mounted. Much better deal than $800+ for new tires.

yeah i seen how most went with the 18s on the back.. but i figure it would be more expensive and nothing but a hassel. (when rotating tires/spacers when lowering/etc.) and 18s all around look too big half of the time IMO

i may not agree with you but i can understand. its definitely more expensive. at the same time i am biased. all three cars that i own have 18s all the way around.

i'm sure urs is sharp as well and from what i've read it sounds like you have some good mods on the way as well. the red car is all bone stock besides wheels, awesome stereo system, and exhaust. when i bought that car i fixed everything to make it look brand new again. my SS has been lowered, wheels, 3.73s, SLP y pipe, SLP LM, PCM tune, short shifter, subframe connectors, strut brace, manta stripe on the hood, and berger panel painted. its got a few other little things done that aren't really a big deal. i wanted to tackle the appearance stuff first and then im going to really get into the motor. i'm a poor college kid and maintaining 3 vehicles is expensive so we will see when the motor stuff starts.
