difference between this two tires.
Not to long ago I posted a thread about my rear tires wearing on the center. Well it's time to replace them and I'm not sure what to get. I have been using Sumitomo HTZ tires for the last two year. And I don't know if to get them again or try the NT555 Extreme. So my question would be how is the traction on the NITTO's as well as treadwear. The Sumitomo tires seem to last me for like a year, even though I don't do burn out or donuts. Every now and then i might take off hard and spin the tires a little. So please if you have had both tire brands which would you say are better? Or if you have the NT555 How do you like them and how long have you had them.
Thank you.

Tires only last you a year? How many miles a year are you driving?
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

I have been using the 555s since my factory goodyears. Traction is pretty good and I daily drive my car and the 555s tend to last 2-3 years.

Agree, handles really well in the rain also. BUT they are a summer tire. Not sure how they would like the cold in VA.
Mine have lasted at least 2 yrs of hard driving and most likely have 3-6 months left. It will all depend on how long of a burn out I do once it's up and running.

I probably drive between 15000 to 18000 miles a year. I was looking at the difference in price and it seem to be about 150 bucks per set. So maybe the extra 150 dollars is worth it.

I don't see how regular street tires are only lasting you 18K miles. That's insane. You must be roasting them a lot more than you state.
I got 65K miles out of my tires on my Impala LTZ lol. I got 15K miles out of my Nitto 555R drag radials on the SS. 15K on drag radials.

Instead of you guys listing how many years your tires are lasting, it would be a lot more beneficial to list the actual mileage. If you are driving 25K miles a year if would make a lot more sense they are lasting 2 years. However, someone like me drives my car only 1500-4K miles a year.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I have NT555 Extremes on my GTO. Been on for over two years. Driven in a few snow storms cautiously. They grip very well compared to the previous BFG KDW2/G-Force sport. What COULD be happening is you're getting a low RPM spin leaving from a stop. You might not feel the rear tires spinning, but they are, and that could be causing your premature wear issues. Especially if you're modded.

I wish I could do that.
I think the main thing that probably wear tires was that I was putting from 32 to 35 psi. And i say that because the center of the rear tire went first.
I'm just going to go ahead and get the NT555 tires that way I can try them. I'm going to put 26 to 28 psi this time though.
Thank you fellows
