    clear coating wheels

i recently purchased some c6 z06 wheels, when i got them they were completely powdercoated black, with my car being black i didnt want all black wheels,i took a closer look at the wheels and noticed they use to be polished aluminum so i taped them off and stripped the powdercoating off of the lip of the wheel and left the center black, now i need to clear the wheels but not sure what exactly or how exactly i need to do this, the problem is the polished part on the lip,how will clear stick to this? i already wet sanded and tested a part and the clear isnt covering up the scratches from the sand paper, and im afraid if i use finer sandpaper the clear will not stick

Unless you drive your car on salty winter roads (probably not often in Georgia) I would polish them and then hit them with a quality metal sealer -- something like Zoop's or 200 mph. The clear will eventually start to yellow and peel even if you do get good adhesion on the first try.

    Yep,

I had this issue with my WS6 polished rims... Stripped the factory clear and fully polished the rims
    all over.

Everybody i took advice from said fresh clear will not stick well! Don't know what the factory process
is but i went, after advice from GoFast908Z on here and went for a product called "Optimum Opti-Seal".
It is a polymer sealant and really does work very well to protect the bare polished rims.
