Bought some Mickey Thompson Street slicks
Well, I have not been able to to launch my car since I bought it. For one, Im sure I need a driver mod for the launch, But I decided to go this route and see where it takes me.
I will be getting my Mickey Thompson 275/40/17's Monday. I have high hopes for them. They have to be better than what I have now. I did not feel like grinding, so I opted for the 17's.
I have yet to feel a dead hook in this car, and I really really want to. So far, I go from a 5 MPH roll and nail it, it rockets great from there... with minimal wheel spin. I will be going to the the track hopefully next weekend with some numbers for you guys. Pray I dont blow a tranny or a rear end.
Anyone have any advice on these? Good or bad? Thanks, and wish me luck.
What can I expect?

Yea? What do you recommend on my launch? RPM?
I like to hear that. I hope nothing breaks when It does finally hook up. My rear whines at 55 MPH and up alittle. Never a grinding, or clunking sound... just a whine starting at 55MPH. Hopefully it will be alright, only one way to find out.
I paid 453$$$ for the tires. Anyone find them cheaper???
I am totally excited to get these on my car, I want a launch so fucking bad. I can ALMOST feel it!
Also there is a Neon SRT4 that wants to race me. Im not all that worried about him. He told me I better have 450 to the wheels if I want to beat him cause he just beat a Camaro with 450 rwhp. I said ok and walked out with my beer,
Hopefully these tires will let me race him from a dead dig and from a 10 MPH roll, where this car excels fucking awesome.370 CI - Twin 6766 Turbo - Jakes stage 5 4L80E - MWC 9" - Holley Dominator

Bright Red- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
lol, I agree 100%
On ProStars with skinnies in front and 15x10's on rear with 275/50/15's I normally 60 footed 1.60-1.61, but on stock (and much heavier) SS 10 spokes with the same size tire you just got (smaller sidewall than before as well), my 60 foots only slowed up 2-3/100ths...yes, that says one hundredths...and that is 3755# race weight, Bilstein shocks, 1LE springs, stock torque arm, and both swaybars in place. Only adjustable piece is the panhard bar.
I got mine from Summit for $418 shipped I think it was. Mine loved 20psi.
I've since went back to ProStars, but have no regrets whatsoever trying the 17's as I lost VERY LITTLE performance compared to "drag wheels"...2002 Silverado Z71 ECSB HPTuners tuned by yours truly

You are in for a world of fun with hooking. I was able to get my car with mods in sig to hook at 5,500 rpms and it felt like the front end came off the ground. It was fucking SWEET!!!! I did my hook with Goodyear GSD3's 275/40/17 with full 32 lbs of pressure. I think I am the only one to do that with street tires and full pressure. My only bitch about it was that it was not at the track , I did it on a newly black topped road at about 100 degrees. THANK GOD MY REAR DIDN'T BREAK.

Heres the update.
I went out and played for about 2 hours today with these MT ET Streets today. Honestly, they scare the living crap out of me on the street. I was launching at 3000 RPM's and was hooking decently. They spun just a little... but I was able to pedal right out it and immedaitely hook back up. I DID NOT warm them up besides driving a few miles on them. Im sure if I did a small burn out they will dead hook at 3 grand on sticky 1.4 miles pavement.
3 grand is probably barely even pushing these tires honestly.
BUT, I launched at 3000 RPM and nailed it all the way threw 3 gear. At about 75 or so the rear end acted like it wanted to just slide out from under me. The car's rear end felt as if it was swaying back and fourth. It did scare me badly. I had no control over this. As of right now, I want my BFG G-Forces back on a 2nd set of rims for the street.
The dufass and the tire place set the pressure at 44 PSI. I just let 4 pounds out. I think I need to let more out... right? 44 is the max at temperature. WWhat should I be running PSI wise in the DR?
Hope some of this helps and hope some can help me.
Also, I ordered my FAST 92/92 last night. So I will need the ET's!

I would say for street application to run 32 psi in those tires. 44 psi is way too much in my eyes. Track run 20 psi or around that area and 32 psi on street. Just my .02
