    Blue 30th T/A wheel help...

I have a friend that bought a 30th Anniversary T/A that previous owner had let sat in the sun for a long time, so the blue anodized wheels on one side are faded Anyone know of anyone who can re-anodize them the correct color???

I never looked close enough. Are they actually anodized or is it just a paint or powdercoat that looks like anodizing?

I always thought they were anodized, but haven't gotten to look at his up close, he just got the car not long ago and has been trying to tackle the wheel issue. He said they were anodized and that 3 or 4 local anodizing shops around here have tried to re-do them but cannot correctly match the color. I think there's a 30th Ann TA registry or forum on the internets somewhere, may look them up and see if anyone has had this issue Wish the previous owner had taken better care...

No luck so far guys; Tried Wheels America but they don't offer replacements and won't refinish them because they can't match the blue. I'll let ya'll know if I find anything else...

you know there are 2 different color rims right? ones a lighter color and one is darker. there were two different factory issued rims (colored) for those cars.

    post some pics.

i'm guessing two were replaced at some point.

Just keep the light colored ones on the same side and always park in the shade, no one will ever know.

Pics please! Those are harder to get then Firehawk wheels from my understanding. I'd get a set of aftermarket F-Body wheels and keep those stored for nice days.

I don't think you'll ever get em matched right, unless you get all 4 redone. There's a tire shop here in Annapolis that keeps a bunch of wheels stacked up on display out in front of their shop. I noticed two of them were 30th TA wheels. One is the correct blue color, the other looks like it was redone and not as nice. I have no idea how they ended up there or if the shop even knows how rare they are but there's one nice one there they may sell to someone if anyones ever in town there.

I was pretty sure they were anodized, been a while since I've seen one in person. Gonna try to get out to see it and take pics. Maybe we can find some matching ones from 2 different places so all four will at least match.

Thanks for all the input guys!! Lots of help on a difficult problem

Yes, I can confirm there are two different colors for these rims from the factory (lighter & darker).

    I just sold a set.

    And yes, they are anodized.
